1970 Van Nuys built 17 17 Shadow Gray / Black standard Z28.

After being built during the first week April of 1970 in Van Nuys, this car was delivered to Courtesy Chevrolet Center in San Diego, California. This car is dry and rust free California car.

This car has very strong documentation. To begin with there is the original owner temporary California paper plate, original owner registration through 1985, original owner insurance card, original owners manual with plastic envelope and Protect-O-Plate. There are three partial built sheets from the gas tank, the driver’s seat and under the carpet. There are also various sales receipts from original owner for shocks, battery, tires, alignment, muffler, etc. ranging from 1974 to 1986.

The original engine was rebuilt in March of 2004 according to receipts from Mesa Machine Supply in Escondido, California. Engine was built to stock specifications with the only change being 10 to 1 pistons. After purchasing the car in July of 2004, I have rebuilt the carburetor front end, the brake system, power steering, heater core and radiator. Complete smog and original exhaust manifolds have been restored. I have replaced the shocks (Konis) and muffler and refinished the wheels. It has new Goodyear Re-Pops. The interior has new carpet, seat covers, head liner. The windshield was also replaced.

Although there is no readable VIN on the engine block, there is a production code which is VO327CTB. The block stamping is clearly visible. Pictures of any particular part of the engine that may be required can be obtained by request.

The original M-21 transmission is long gone and has been replaced with a T-10 transmission. The rearend is the original 373. The original jack with spare and am radio is included along with correct date coded 1112019 Distributor.

The car was repainted years ago and is by no means a show car, but it would be considered a true “10 footer” with tremendous potential.
