How To Remove Those Old Graphics & Stripes From
Your Car And Replace Them With Brand New Ones.
===================================================
Mike here from CustomAutoTrim.com...
today's tip will show you exactly how to remove those old and worn stripes from
your vehicle, and replace them with brand new ones... WITHOUT damaging
your paint.
Time and time again customers have come to me and said: "Mike, I love these
new graphics I've
just bought, but how do I get rid of the old ones?"
It's really simple...
== For Old, Wide Stripes That Are Not Cracked ==
Warm up the surface with a heat gun (a hairdryer can also work too). This helps
to soften the adhesive which secures the graphic to your vehicle... then work
one section at a time to pull the stripe off. Any left over adhesive
residue is removed with solvent glue remover and a plastic scraper.
== Thin Pinstripes That Are Not Cracked ==
These can also be warmed (in the same way as above) and pulled off or scraped
with a plastic razor (found in body shop supply stores). It's as easy as that!
== Thin Or Worn Stripes In A Bad Condition ==
Thinner stripes in really bad condition that are cracked and peeled can be
removed with a stripe
remover disc that attaches to your drill.
It is made by 3M (called a "Rolock disc") and can also be found in a
body shop supply store. It is kind of expensive but is worth it. You will need
to wear safety goggles since "stripe dust" gets everywhere. If
there's any residue left, use glue remover.
And that's all there is to it!
What's more, we have a wide range of graphics in our online superstore that you
can use to "jazz" up your vehicle and add that much needed unique
touch.
